EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES
Army education centers offer a wide variety of programs (certificates, Associate’s, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees) through U.S. vocational-technical schools, colleges and universities. Professional education counselors assist Soldiers in developing and completing education goals and educational plans in a cost-effective, timely manner..
Fort Cavazos hosts a campus for Central Texas College, allowing Soldiers to attend classes without leaving post. Fort Cavazos offers a variety of places to eat and things to do. Lone Star Conference Center and the Samuel Adams Brewhouse are great for dining and entertainment, and if you want a taste of outside the gate without actually going there, we have a full-service Lucky's restaurant on post, as well as other familiar chain restaurants available across the post.
If action is what you crave, enjoy one of Fort Cavazos Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation's adventure programs. Go fishing on, or biking around Belton Lake. Play nine holes at the Courses of Clear Creek. If it's off-post action you're after, the Killeen, Belton, Temple and Copperas Cove communities that surround Fort Cavazos always have something to offer. Gate Information
Non-DoD persons with a valid reason for entering the installation can conveniently obtain an installation pass by stopping at the Marvin Leath Visitors Welcome Center. The center also offers great services like vehicle registration and driver’s license renewal.

HOUSING OFFICE
House Watch Program
The Fort Cavazos House Watch program is a DES initiative aimed at giving Soldiers and family members peace of mind while they are away from their quarters for an extended period of time. When you place your quarter on the house watch list, that address becomes a security check for patrols assigned to that sector. A patrol will inspect the exterior of the quarters and identify if any windows or doors are damaged or if anyone has attempted to make entry into the home. They will also inspect outside storage facilities to ensure they are secure. To sign up for the program, download the participation form.
ID Cards / DEERS
The ID Card Office is located at Building 130, on the corner of Legends Way and TJ Mills. We are here to assist you with US ID Cards and DEERS enrollment. Soldier CACs are issued by the Brigade S1. Click on our link for detailed information and to schedule an appointment.

Military Personnel Services Division
The Military Personnel Services Division is involved in all of the activities of sustaining the human dimension needs of Soldiers, retirees, veterans and their families. Some of these activities include Soldier Readiness Processing and Central In/Out-processing, casualty affairs, separations, ID Card and DEERS services, retirement services and the full spectrum of military personnel office services.

Newcomers Information and orientation
Learn about Fort Cavazos and all the services we offer here, including about the weekly installation orientation that is available to newly arrived Soldiers and their family members. This free event takes place every Thursday; the doors open at 8:45 a.m., with the event beginning at 9 a.m. at the Lone Star Conference Center. Those who attend will hear from the commanding general, the Garrison commander and agency representatives. Free childcare is available on-site to those who attend.

Retirement Services Office
The Retirement Services Program is designed to assist Soldiers and their Families in their transition to retirement and to keep them updated on their benefits and entitlements after retirement. This includes active duty, retirees, spouses, dependents, widows, widowers, former spouses, and veterans. A primary element of retirement services is proper and timely counseling on the career status bonus, Survivor Benefit Plan and Reserve Component SBP.

SFAC services help these Soldiers make life-changing decisions as they transition back to duty or on to civilian life.
Sportsmen's Center ⚠
Your Sportsmen's Center supports your skeet and trap shooting and archery needs, as well as a pro shop to support hunting and fishing equipment. We also allow the dining room and meeting room to be rented out after hours for unit functions, groups and clubs. The outdoor shelter area and pavilion behind Sportmen's Center next to the Archery range has picnic tables, grills and a volleyball court. Don't forget to target your hunger with the Sportsmen's Center Grill for all your home-style breakfast and lunch items.

Things to do
There are a variety of activities available on Fort Cavazos and in the surrounding area. There are the natural wonders of the Hill Country and nearby lakes, indoor and outdoor recreation activities, hunting, fishing, boating, sports, cultural and historic activities available. In addition to all that, you can also get involved in organizations like the Fort Cavazos Spouses Club, the Fort Cavazos Thrift Shop, the Fort Cavazos Scholarship Fund or Operation Deploy Your Dress. No matter what your interests, there is something available nearby!
TOTAL ARMY SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM
The Total Army Sponsorship Program mission is to help Soldiers and their families better integrate into the U.S. Army, and to assist them when they transition to different units. Sponsorship applies to all active component Soldiers in ranks E-1 through O-6. TASP ensures incoming Soldiers are assigned sponsors prior to reporting to their next duty station. Obtaining a sponsor reduces the stress of reporting to a new unit, enhances resiliency and improves readiness among Soldiers and family members.

We are home to the center of volunteer recruitment, referral, recognition and advocacy efforts for Fort Cavazos. Volunteers are recruited for a wide variety of positions throughout the on and off-post communities. Individuals wishing to benefit from volunteer service may register their resumes and more. Organizations wishing to benefit from volunteer service may register their volunteer job descriptions with the Volunteer Center, whose staff will work to fill the positions with the right volunteers.
WEAPONS REGISTRATION
