Brigadier General Thomas M. Feltey

Brigadier General Feltey was commissioned as an Armor Officer from the Rutgers University ROTC program. He has served in a diverse selection of Army and Joint/Combined command and staff positions to include as the 53rd Chief of Armor;  Director, G-3/5/7, Futures and Concepts Center, Fort Eustis, Virginia; Chief of Staff, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado; Commander of the 316th Cavalry Brigade, Fort Moore, Georgia; Commander, 2nd Battalion, 23rd Infantry, 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington; Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff G35 in the NATO Allied Rapid Reaction Corps in Rheindahlen, Germany, and Gloucester, England; Squadron Operations and Executive Officer, 3rd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Cavazos, Texas; Maneuver Captains’ Career Course Small Group Instructor and Chief of the Commanding General’s Planning Group for the United States Armor Center, Fort Knox, Kentucky; Cavalry and Headquarters Troop Commander, 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, in Schweinfurt, Germany; Tank Platoon Leader and Battalion Scout Platoon Leader in the 1st Battalion, 66th Armor Regiment, 1st Brigade, 2nd Armored Division, and later as a Scout Platoon Leader in the Brigade Recon Troop, 1st Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Cavazos, Texas. These assignments include combat tours in support of Operation Resolute Support, Operation Freedom’s Sentinel, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Brigadier General Feltey’s education includes the Armor Basic and Advanced Courses, the Scout Platoon Leaders’ Course, the Cavalry Leaders’ Course, the Naval College of Command and Staff, the Maritime School of Advanced Military Studies, and the Joint Advanced Warfighting School. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Rutgers University, a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Navy War College, and a Master of Science Degree in Campaign Planning and Strategic Studies from the Joint Forces Staff College of the National Defense University.

His awards and decorations include the Valorous Unit Award, Legion of Merit (5th Award), Bronze Star Medal (2nd Award), Defense Meritorious Service Medal (2nd Award), Meritorious Service Medal (5th Award), the Combat Action Badge, Parachutist Badge, and Canadian Parachutist Badge. BG Feltey is a recipient of the Order of Saint George (Silver) and the Order of Saint Maurice (Legionnaire). Additionally, he is a distinguished member of the 23rd Infantry Regiment.
