Command Sergeant Major Veronica E. Knapp is a native of Wooster, Ohio and enlisted in the United States Army on 28 March 2000 as an Internment and Resettlement Military Police Soldier.  She attended One Station Unit Training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO.

Her previous assignments include Fort Leavenworth, KS; Fort Leonard Wood, MO; Fort Bragg, NC; Fort Bliss, TX; and Camp Humphrey’s, Korea.  She has deployed to Bagram, Afghanistan and served two consecutive tours in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. 
CSM Knapp has served in every leadership position from Team Leader to Command Sergeant Major.  Special duty positions include Senior Drill Sergeant, Senior Internment / Resettlement NCO, Brigade S3 Operations Sergeant Major, USARCF-K Facility Sergeant Major and 40th Military Police Battalion (Detention) Command Sergeant Major. 
Her significant military and civilian education includes: Basic Airborne School, Basic Leaders Course (Distinguished Honor Graduate and Physical Fitness Awardee), Military Police Investigations Course, Advanced Leaders Course (Commandants List and Physical Fitness Awardee), Senior Leaders Course (Physical Fitness Awardee), Drill Sergeant School (Commandants List and Physical Fitness Awardee), Modern Army Combatives Level I, Army Basic Instructor Course, Air Assault Course, Air Movement Operations Course, Jumpmaster Course, Master Resilience Trainer, Hostage Negotiation Course, Battle Staff NCO Course, United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 65), and the Pre Command Course.  She earned her national certification as an American Correctional Association (ACA) Certified Corrections Manager (CCM) and has an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts with Upper Iowa University.
