Command Sergeant Major Donald W. Ferguson

Command Sergeant Major, Security Force Assistance Command

Command Sergeant Major Ferguson enlisted in December 1992 and attended basic training and AIT at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He has served in every position from Section Chief to Brigade Command Sergeant Major in addition to the Training Directorate Sergeant Major at HQDA G-3/5/7.

CSM Ferguson’s past duties include Section Chief, Platoon Sergeant, Station Commander, Operations Sergeant, First Sergeant, Battalion Command Sergeant Major, Brigade Command Sergeant Major and Directorate Sergeant Major. He assumed duties as the Command Sergeant Major of the Security Force Assistance Command at Fort Bragg, North Carolina on 2 August 2022.

CSM Ferguson earned a Master of Science degree in International Relations from Troy University and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from Morehead State University. His military education includes Air Assault, Airborne, Jumpmaster, Pathfinder, Recruiter Course, Unit Officer Movement Course, Combatives Level 1 and 2, First Sergeants Course, Sergeant's Major Course, Battalion and Brigade Pre-Command Course, Force Integration for Senior Leaders Course and the Nominative Leaders Course.

CSM Ferguson's awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit (2 OLC), Bronze Star (1OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (3OLC), National Defense Service Medal (w/star), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (w/star), Afghanistan Campaign Medal (w/star), Iraq Campaign Medal (w/2 stars), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, UN Medal, NATO Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation and the Army Superior Unit Award. He has also earned the Combat Action badge, Senior Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Gold Recruiter Badge, Army Staff Identification Badge and German, Polish and Canadian Parachutist Badges. Additionally, he is a member of the Ancient Order of St. Barbara and the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club.
