In light of the COVID-19 global pandemic, the Fort Bliss Army & Air Force Exchange Service Main Exchange now offers curbside pick up for online shoppers to limit interaction and increase social distancing.
The program launched April 10.
“The process is simple,” said Fort Bliss AAFES General Manager Mike Brennan. “Customers shop online at shopmyexchange.com using their current zip code. When selecting an item, the site will offer to either ship to the address on file or pick up in the store.”
Once the order is processed, the store will pick and pack the order, then call the customer to ask if they want to retrieve their items from customer service or if they prefer curbside pick up.
“If ‘pick up in store’ is not an option that means the item is blocked, or the Fort Bliss Main Exchange is either out of stock or they do not carry it,” Brennan said.
Curbside orders can be picked up in the new designated parking area outside the Main Exchange by calling or texting the number on the sign. An AAFES employee will load the order in the customer's vehicle with little or no contact.
“Like the rest of the world, we are learning as we go when it comes to COVID-19,” said Brennan. “This is just one more measure we are taking to ensure the health and safety of both our employees and our customers, while continuing to provide retail services for the Fort Bliss community.”
