Kennedy Mars in Sittard (NL)

In a 1963 speech, President John F. Kennedy said as a result of the modern affluent society, “nobody can walk 50 miles within 20 hours anymore.” After this statement, many people all over the world walked 50 miles/80 km to prove him wrong. In Sittard, this has become an annual event named The Kennedy Mars begins and finishes in Sittard (NL) on the Saturday before Easter, which is April 20.
