Lieutenant Colonel Abraham (Abe) Osborn is from Tyler, Texas. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Air Defense Artillery upon graduation from the United States Military Academy in 2002.

LTC Osborn began his career as an Avenger/Stinger Platoon Leader, followed by serving as a Battery Executive Officer and Battalion Adjutant in 3rd Battalion, 4th Air Defense Artillery Regiment (Airborne), 82d Airborne Division. After completing the Air Defense Officer Captains Career Course, he was assigned to the 108th Air Defense Artillery Brigade at Fort Bliss, Texas. While the Headquarters and Headquarters Battery Commander, the battery re-located to Fort Bragg, North Carolina. After battery command, LTC Osborn was assigned to the 82d Combat Aviation Brigade as the Air Defense and Airspace Management Officer in Charge.

Following this assignment, LTC Osborn served within the U.S. Army Fires Center of Excellence as Speechwriter to the Commanding General and Instructor for the Basic Officer Leaders Course. LTC Osborn then served in the 3rd Infantry Division as Deputy, G3 Air and Missile Defense and Afghan Security Forces Development divisions. Following reassignment to Fort Sill, Oklahoma, LTC Osborn again served in the U.S. Army Fires Center of Excellence, this time for the TRADOC Capability Manager focused on defense against Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems. He then served as a Battalion Operations Officer and Executive Officer for 3rd Battalion, 2nd Air Defense Artillery Regiment (Patriot). He was responsible for training and certifying a U.S. Army Patriot battalion to deploy for twelve months to the U.S. Central Command area of operations, defending critical U.S. and partner assets across the region from air and missile threats while also working to improve partner missile defense capability.

LTC Osborn’s operational deployments include service with the 82nd Airborne and 3rd Infantry Divisions, as well as with the 31st Air Defense Artillery brigade, deploying three times in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM in Afghanistan and once in support of OPERATION INHERENT RESOLVE/OPERATION SPARTAN SHIELD in the Middle East. LTC Osborn’s most recent assignment was at the Missile Defense Agency coordinating the Agency’s operational support to U.S. Central Command and U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, and as the Executive Officer to the Director for Test.

LTC Osborn holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the United States Military Academy and a Master of Arts from the University of Texas El Paso. He and his wife, Amanda, have three children: Benjamin (11), Cora Ann (8), and Brendan (3).
